A boy faces creatures that come down from a dark place where there was a ceiling before and where now, by the voice of the parents saying "good night," there is nothing. This picture book is about mute characters until suddenly a talking being without shape appears.  Is his voice the scary thing? Or his message? "I am what is before there is something?". In the face of the terror, the boy takes refuge in his parents bed. But it is there, when the lights turn off, that the story begins.
